Child slavery

In Ghana, children are still sold in slavery by their parents. They earn no money themselves but are forced to work hard in the fishing industry.

In the Volta region just a few mil from them popular tourist beaches, thousands of children are living in these conditions. The brothers, Sampson and Bright who is 11 to 12 years old were sold for just over a year ago by theire parents to the fisherman Emanuel for 100 dollar on a three year contract.

Bright and Sampson can not go to school, but are forced to work from early morning to late afternoon with everything from fishing on the lake to housework. Do they not do what they are told they could be punished.

Sampson went for two years in school before he was sold and they both yearn to return, both for school and for their parents.
